My earliest memories include lying on the caramel-colored carpet of my bedroom floor, writing and illustrating stories. I've always been a "word girl" at heart.
My word obsession continued as I filled wide-ruled spiral notebooks with less-than-thrilling descriptions of my 6th-grade girl gang and our boy band crushes.
And when I wasn't writing words, I was consuming them. I read our family's set of World Book Encyclopedias for fun.
Dreams of becoming an astronaut inspired third-grade Megan to think like an entrepreneur: sell enough cherry Kool-Aid to fund a trip to Space Camp.
When advanced math crushed my astronaut dreams, I decided to stick to wordsmithing instead.
Surprisingly, that didn't just mean doing one thing. I've worked as a journalist, freelance content writer and editor, and secondary teacher.
And all these opportunities have given me the right experience to understand and overcome objections and to persuade others with the best intentions using words.
